Like a mountain is to a mountain climber or the Moon is to an astronaut, there are times when an artist just has to draw, paint or sculpt it. This was one of those times. A friend (Stan Lobitz) registering his barn full of collectable midget racecars sent a rather badly exposed photograph to Dick. The
less-than-perfect photo reminded Dick of the lighting, mood and style of the Dutch Masters… this is the result.
